Adoptions
Adoptions and termination of parental rights pending adoption
Adoption is the act of creating a legal parent-child relationship between parties who are not so related. A child may be adopted by relatives or unrelated third parties, so long as the required parties consent to said adoption and all the statutory requirements are observed. Florida Statutes Chapter 63 governs adoption and Chapter 39 pertains to adoptions after the voluntary or involuntary relinquishment of a child to the Department of Children and Families.
